Is there ever enough time in the day to be a scuba diver? It seems like I go out for the day, and before I know it, I am checking my Citizen dive watch and it is time to come in. Things just go by so quickly when you are doing the things that you love. That's why I am a firm believer in doing them as much as humanly possible. Which is even better if you have someone special in your life who enjoys the same things as you do. Because people are just as important as experiences, I have found. In fact, the company is what makes or breaks many experiences for me.

I am not saying that I never do out for a scuba or a bike ride or anything by myself. Sometimes, when you love to do something and can't find anyone who loves it at the same time, you just have to. Once in a blue moon, the solitude is also kind of nice as a change of pace. But those old hands on my Citizen dive watch do tend to tick a little bit more slowly when I am alone. Perhaps this is why I do admmit that solitude is okay every once in a while, as it does afford you more time to enjoy the actual act instead of the company.
But for the most part, I have found that I will, the majority of the time, get enough of those solitary runs in the natural course of events. It's difficulty, even amongst two people who share a passion for something to get perfectly coordinated schedules with it. So, often times, I want to put on the Citizen dive watch and go for a swim and I can't find anyone who is into it that day. Actually, I have found that what works best is to just try to find a scuba buddy for any given day. Sometimes I will, and sometimes I won't. That way, I let fate decide whether it's just going to be me and my Citizen dive watch or if it's going to be an event.
Somewhere along the way, I did start to believe i fate and destiny, if only just a little bit. I think a lot of life is just about being there, ready, shoes shines, Citizen dive watch on your wrist, a smile on your face. The right place at the right time and a little bit of luck. That's what fate is. I have had a lot of uncontrollable things happen to me one way or the other just on chance. It's amazes me to think about, really.
In the end, I just feel lucky to be able to do the things that I do. I have followed my passions, for the most part. And for the most part, have been lucky enough to have had special people take that road with me. Scuba diving, bike riding, mountain climbing, whatever your dreams are - It is an immense opportunity to be able to go after them. Not everyone gets this. How you handle it is a reflection of your personality. Just strap on your boots, your fins, your Citizen dive watch, whatever the case may be, and enjoy it.
